Working with our Communities
Supporting and developing long-standing relationships with the communities that are local to our operations, is a fundamental element of our sustainability strategy. Taking a proactive approach which encompasses local charities and good causes, helps us further develop our reputation as a company that makes a positive difference to the communities in which we operate. In 2016 we donated US$244,788 to 111 world-wide charitable and good cases. This was a 66% increase on our 2015 total of US$147,922.
In 2016 we launched our Innospec Cares program. The program encourages our employees to engage with our local communities by nominating local charities and community initiatives to receive a donation from a new corporate fund. The fund makes available donations to local or national charities and community initiatives demonstrating support for:
- Disadvantaged Groups
- Human health and wellbeing
- Encouragement of education
- Environmental Projects
The new fund is in addition to our other donations for charitable and community support. In 2016, employees from 16 of our global locations participated in the program, resulting in almost US$100,000 being donated to support 47 different charities or good causes local to where we operate. Further details of the charities supported along with the impact of the donation can be found in our Innospec Cares 2016 Impact summary.
Our 2017 program was launched in March 2017 and already we have donated just over US$66,000 to 45 different charities or good causes.
Our employees, manufacturing sites and businesses do a great job of fundraising and supporting both national and local organizations and have done so for many years. Examples include;
